Deluxe Patchouli by Comme Des Garcons

Who said that was a patchouli scent of teenage hippie in the seventies? Boys Like not in any case, who chose to reinvent this noble-Indonesian culture which also passes through a serious crisis right now by working in new ways, and without any price. The impression of wealth and compact mass that emerges from the first notes attest.

Patchouli is obtained by a long sun drying leaves of a shrub, which originally have no particular smell. Fastened together in small package to promote fermentation, they are then distilled to give the characteristic essential oil, which according to the quality, smell has more or less complex, woody, earthy, musty, camphor, which is unique world.

Here we find the note that takes on a musty yeast fermented, with a little culinary evocation of "Marmite" English without being disagreeable. An agreement anise and pepper notes that building large, heavy and powerful spicy freshness and fusing. Patchouli woody facet of Sumatra used here (premium) is reinforced by the presence of dried and smoked cedar, vetiver and sandalwood, while her dark and undergrowth is amplified by the resins (oppoponax), the vanilla and oak moss.

I have rarely felt a perfume so powerful, complex, exciting, and especially persistent on a garment (one week, no exaggeration). As Boys did not need to name its new luxury range, just to feel convinced that the real luxury in perfumery today is more in these marks the "edge" in the so-called jewels of French luxury perfume, which did more for some luxury in name only.
